The Beastie Boys
The Beastie Boys were a pioneering hip-hop group formed in New York City in 1981, originally consisting of Adam "MCA" Yauch, Michael "Mike D" Diamond, and Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz. Initially starting as a punk band, they transitioned to hip-hop and gained fame with their 1986 debut album, "Licensed to Ill," which featured hits like "Fight For Your Right." Known for their eclectic style and blend of rap, rock, and pop, they pushed boundaries in music and culture. The group received accolades for their innovative sound and meaningful lyrics until Yauch's passing in 2012, after which they disbanded.
