The April Theses
The April Theses were a series of directives issued by Vladimir Lenin in April 1917 after his return to Russia during World War I. They called for an immediate end to the war, the transfer of land to the peasants, and power to be given to the Soviets (workers' councils). Lenin advocated for a radical socialist approach, urging the working class to rise against the provisional government and implement a socialist revolution. These ideas significantly influenced the Bolshevik Party and played a crucial role in the events leading to the 1917 October Revolution, which established a communist government in Russia.
