The Afghan War

The Afghan War refers to the conflict in Afghanistan that began in 2001, when the U.S. and allied forces aimed to dismantle the Taliban government and eliminate terrorist networks like al-Qaeda after the September 11 attacks. Over the years, the war involved military operations, nation-building efforts, and attempts to establish a stable government. Despite initial successes, insurgency, corruption, and regional instability persisted, making it a prolonged and complex conflict. The U.S. officially withdrew troops in 2021, leading to the Taliban regaining control, highlighting the challenging and evolving nature of the war.
