Th2 polarization
Th2 polarization refers to the immune system’s tendency to favor a specific response called the Th2 pathway. This response involves immune cells that produce signals promoting allergy, inflammation, and defense against parasites like worms. When Th2 is dominant, the body produces certain antibodies (like IgE) and chemicals that attract cells involved in allergic reactions. Th2 polarization can be helpful against parasites but may also contribute to allergic diseases, such as asthma or hay fever. Essentially, it’s a shift in immune focus that impacts how the body responds to certain threats or triggers.
