TGFBR1

TGFBR1, or Transforming Growth Factor Beta Receptor 1, is a protein found on the surface of cells. It acts as a receptor for a molecule called TGF-beta, which helps control cell growth, development, and immune responses. When TGF-beta binds to TGFBR1, it activates processes inside the cell that regulate how cells divide, differentiate, or die. Proper functioning of TGFBR1 is vital for tissue health and preventing abnormal cell growth. Mutations or changes in the TGFBR1 gene can be linked to certain diseases, including some cancers and connective tissue disorders.
