Terra Cotta Army

The Terra Cotta Army is a vast collection of thousands of life-sized clay soldiers, horses, and chariots buried near China's first Emperor, Qin Shi Huang, around 210–209 BCE. Created to protect his tomb in the afterlife, these sculptures were intended to ensure his power and status endured beyond death. Discovered in 1974, the army is considered one of the greatest archaeological finds, showcasing advanced craftsmanship and providing insight into ancient Chinese military practices and artistry. It remains one of the world's most significant archaeological treasures, reflecting the scale and grandeur of the emperor’s reign.
