TEOG (Transition from Primary to Secondary Education)
TEOG (Transition from Primary to Secondary Education) was a standardized exam system used in Turkey to determine placement for students moving from primary school to secondary schools. It evaluated students' academic performance across core subjects, and their scores influenced which middle schools they could attend. The system aimed to ensure a fair and organized transition based on merit, but it also faced criticism for stressing students and limiting options. TEOG has since been replaced by different placement methods, but it primarily served as a merit-based sorting mechanism during its active years.
