Tenofovir

Tenofovir is a medication used to treat HIV and chronic hepatitis B infections. It works by blocking an enzyme that the viruses need to replicate and multiply in the body. By preventing the virus from copying itself, tenofovir helps reduce the amount of virus in the blood, improving health and lowering the risk of spreading the infection. It is usually taken as a daily pill and is often part of combination therapy. Like all medications, it can have side effects, so it’s important to use it under medical supervision.
