Templar Commanderies
Templar Commanderies were local chapters of the Knights Templar, a medieval Christian military order founded in the early 12th century. Each Commandery functioned as a base for members, who were both warriors and monks, dedicated to protecting pilgrims and the Holy Land. Commanderies served various purposes, including military operations, religious activities, and agricultural production to fund their missions. They were characterized by their communal living, distinctive architecture, and strict codes of conduct. Over time, after the order was disbanded in the early 14th century, these Commanderies became historical sites and symbols of chivalry and mystique.
