tau seeding

Tau seeding refers to a process in which abnormal tau proteins in the brain form tiny clumps, or seeds, that can spread and trigger normal tau proteins to also become misshapen. This aggregation disrupts nerve cell function, contributing to neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's. Essentially, these seeds act like seeds in a garden, encouraging healthy proteins to misfold and form harmful aggregates, leading to progressive brain damage over time.
