Tarain
Tarain refers to the historic battles that took place near the town of Tarain (also spelled Taraori) in present-day India, notably in 1191 and 1192. These battles were fought between the forces of Prithviraj Chauhan, a Rajput king, and Muhammad Ghori, a Muslim invader from Central Asia. The First Battle of Tarain resulted in a victory for Prithviraj Chauhan, but in the Second Battle of Tarain, Ghori defeated him, leading to significant changes in Indian history. These events mark key turning points in the Muslim conquests and the eventual establishment of Muslim rule in northern India.
