
Tapti River
The Tapti River, also known as the Tapi River, flows through central India, primarily in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Gujarat. It originates in the Satpura Range and travels approximately 724 kilometers (450 miles) before emptying into the Arabian Sea. The river is important for irrigation, drinking water, and supporting local agriculture. It also has several dams, which generate hydroelectric power. The Tapti's basin supports diverse ecosystems and is home to various wildlife, making it significant both ecologically and economically for the regions it flows through.
