Tahuantinsuyo
Tahuantinsuyo was the great empire of the Incas, meaning “The Four Regions” in Quechua. It thrived in South America from the 15th to early 16th century, covering modern Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, and parts of Colombia, Argentina, and Chile. The Incas built advanced terraces, roads, and cities like Machu Picchu, demonstrating sophisticated engineering. They had a centralized government, a system of taxation, and impressive agricultural practices. Tahuantinsuyo was known for its rich culture, including art, textiles, and religious sites. It was the largest empire in pre-Columbian America, and its legacy influences the region today.
