Synthesis Gas

Synthesis gas, or syngas, is a mixture mainly composed of carbon monoxide and hydrogen. It is produced by gasifying carbon-rich materials like coal, biomass, or natural gas under controlled conditions. Syngas serves as a versatile feedstock for manufacturing fuels, chemicals, and other products through processes such as the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis.
