Symbolic Mathematics

Symbolic mathematics is a branch of mathematics that uses symbols and letters to represent numbers and mathematical concepts, rather than just numerical values. This approach allows for general solutions to problems, manipulation of equations, and simplification of complex expressions. For example, instead of calculating the area of a rectangle with specific dimensions, symbolic mathematics allows us to express the area as a formula (length × width) that can be applied to any rectangle. This flexibility is essential in fields like engineering, physics, and computer science, where solving abstract problems is often necessary.
