Svetambara

Svetambara is one of the two main sects of Jainism, the other being Digambara. Svetambaras believe that monks can wear white robes and that women can achieve liberation. They emphasize the importance of scripture and interpretation, and their practices often include communal worship and rituals. Svetambaras also accept a wider range of texts as authoritative compared to Digambaras. The name "Svetambara" translates to "white-clad," reflecting their practice of wearing simple white clothing. This sect generally promotes a more inclusive approach to spirituality within Jainism.
