Survival cannibalism

Survival cannibalism occurs when individuals consume the flesh of deceased or, less commonly, living persons during extreme circumstances, such as famine, shipwrecks, or natural disasters, where no other food sources are available. It is typically viewed as an act driven by desperation to survive. While ethically and legally condemned in normal circumstances, historical instances highlight how extreme survival situations can lead to such actions, raising complex questions about morality, human resilience, and the limits of desperation.
