supraspinatus muscle
The supraspinatus is one of the four rotator cuff muscles located in the shoulder. It sits on the upper part of the shoulder blade (scapula) and helps lift the arm away from the body, especially during the first part of raising your arm sideways. It also plays a key role in stabilizing the shoulder joint, allowing smooth and controlled movement. Its an important muscle for activities like reaching, lifting, or throwing. Injuries or tears in the supraspinatus are common and can cause shoulder pain, weakness, or limited movement.
