Supraspinatus
The supraspinatus is a small muscle located in the shoulder, part of the rotator cuff group. It runs from the shoulder blade to the upper arm bone and helps lift the arm sideways and stabilize the shoulder joint. This muscle is essential for raising your arm and reaching overhead. Because of its position, it’s prone to wear and tear, especially from overuse or injury, which can lead to shoulder pain or difficulty moving the arm. Maintaining shoulder strength and flexibility can help prevent issues with the supraspinatus.
