support animals
Support animals, often referred to as emotional support animals (ESAs), are pets that provide comfort and companionship to individuals dealing with mental health issues, anxiety, or emotional challenges. Unlike service animals, which are specifically trained to perform tasks for a person with a disability, support animals do not have specialized training. Their primary role is to offer emotional support simply by being present. ESAs can help reduce symptoms of stress and anxiety, and they may be granted certain housing and travel accommodations under specific laws, though their rights are different from those of service animals.
