Superior rectus muscle

The superior rectus muscle is one of the six muscles that control eye movement. It is located on the top part of the eye and connects the eye to the orbit (eye socket). When this muscle contracts, it moves the eye upward, allowing you to look straight up. It also helps in rotating the eye inward (towards the nose) and slightly inward. The superior rectus works together with other eye muscles to enable smooth, precise movement and positioning of the eye for proper vision and focus. It is essential for adjusting gaze and maintaining proper eye alignment.
