Sultan Qutuz
Sultan Qutuz was a key figure in the history of Egypt during the 13th century. He is best known for his role in leading the Egyptian forces against the Mongol invasions, particularly in the Battle of Ain Jalut in 1260. This battle marked a significant turning point, as it was one of the first major defeats of the Mongols, who had been rapidly expanding across Asia. Qutuz's leadership not only helped to secure Egypt but also preserved Muslim power in the region during a time of crisis. He ruled as Sultan from 1259 until his assassination in 1260.
