Suhrawardi

Suhrawardi, also known as Shahab al-Din Yahya Suhrawardi, was a Persian philosopher from the 12th century who founded the Illuminationist school of thought. He believed that true knowledge comes through inner enlightenment and direct experience of spiritual realities, rather than solely through rational thinking or scientific method. Suhrawardi emphasized the importance of intuition and mystical insight, integrating elements of ancient Persian, Islamic, and Greek philosophy. His ideas influenced both Islamic thought and later mystical traditions, inspiring a rich spiritual and philosophical tradition focused on understanding the divine and the nature of consciousness.
