Sugarcane processing
Sugarcane processing involves several steps to extract and refine sugar. First, harvested cane is cleaned and crushed to extract the juice. The juice is then clarified to remove impurities and concentrated through boiling to form a thick syrup. This syrup is further crystallized in centrifuges to separate sugar crystals from molasses. The crystals are dried and refined to produce white sugar, while molasses can be used for fermentation or other products. Throughout the process, waste by-products are managed responsibly. The entire process transforms raw cane into the sweet, white sugar used in countless food applications.
