Subscapularis
The subscapularis is a muscle located on the front side of your shoulder blade (scapula). It plays a key role in shoulder movement, mainly helping you to rotate your arm inward and lift it forward. Additionally, it helps stabilize the shoulder joint, keeping your arm securely attached to the shoulder socket during movement. The subscapularis is part of a group of muscles called the rotator cuff, which work together to allow smooth and controlled shoulder motions. Injury or weakness in this muscle can lead to shoulder pain, limited mobility, or instability.
