Subarachnoid Hemorrhage
Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) is a type of bleeding that occurs in the space between the brain and the tissue covering it, known as the subarachnoid space. This bleeding often happens when an aneurysm, a weak spot in a blood vessel, bursts. Symptoms include a sudden, severe headache, often described as “the worst headache of my life,” neck stiffness, and sometimes loss of consciousness. SAH is a medical emergency that requires immediate attention, as it can lead to serious complications like stroke or brain damage. Treatment may involve surgery or medications to manage the condition.
