SU-8

SU-8 is a specialized type of photoresist, a light-sensitive material used in microfabrication to create precise, three-dimensional structures on surfaces. When exposed to specific wavelengths of light, SU-8 hardens in targeted areas, allowing it to be developed and washed away from unexposed regions. This process enables the creation of very detailed, robust micro-scale features such as channels, molds, or electrodes. SU-8’s high aspect ratio, chemical stability, and ability to form thick layers make it ideal for applications in microfluidics, biomedical devices, and microelectromechanical systems (MEMS).
