Strong AI vs. Weak AI

Strong AI refers to artificial intelligence systems that possess true understanding and consciousness, capable of thinking, reasoning, and experiencing emotions like a human. In contrast, Weak AI, also known as narrow AI, refers to systems designed to perform specific tasks or solve particular problems, but without genuine understanding or self-awareness. For example, a virtual assistant that can schedule appointments or play music is Weak AI, while a hypothetical machine that could think and reason independently, similar to a human, would represent Strong AI. Currently, we have only Weak AI technologies.
