Striated Muscle

Striated muscle is a type of muscle tissue characterized by its striped appearance under a microscope. It includes skeletal muscles, which are attached to bones and allow voluntary movements like walking or lifting, and cardiac muscle, which makes up the heart and contracts rhythmically to pump blood. These muscles are made up of long, cylindrical cells called fibers that contain multiple nuclei and are rich in protein filaments, enabling them to contract forcefully. The striations result from the organized arrangement of these proteins, allowing precise and powerful movements essential for various bodily functions.
