Strabismus and Amblyopia
Strabismus, often referred to as "crossed eyes," is a condition where the eyes do not align properly, leading to difficulties in focusing on the same point. Amblyopia, or "lazy eye," can occur when one eye sends a weaker visual signal to the brain, often due to strabismus or other issues like refractive errors. This results in reduced vision in the affected eye. Both conditions are important in pediatric ophthalmology, as early diagnosis and treatment can help prevent lasting visual impairment and promote proper visual development in children.
