steelmaking
Steelmaking involves converting raw materials like iron ore, coal, and limestone into steel, a strong metal used in construction and manufacturing. The process primarily takes place in a blast furnace, where iron ore is heated to high temperatures, removing impurities and producing molten iron. This iron is then refined in a furnace called a basic oxygen furnace or electric arc furnace, where it's mixed with scrap steel and other elements to control its properties. The molten steel is then poured into molds or rolled into sheets or shapes for various applications. This process creates the durable, versatile material known as steel.
