Statism
Statism is a political system where the state has significant control over social and economic policies, often prioritizing state authority and intervention over individual freedoms and market forces. In a statist system, the government may heavily regulate industries, redistribute wealth, and provide extensive social services. This can be seen in various forms, ranging from welfare states with significant social programs to authoritarian regimes that suppress individual liberties. Statism often contrasts with liberalism, which emphasizes personal freedom, limited government, and free-market principles.
