Static Routing Protocols
Static routing protocols are manual methods used to direct data within a network. A network administrator sets specific paths for data to follow, much like creating a detailed map for delivery trucks. Unlike dynamic routing, which automatically updates routes based on network changes, static routing requires manual adjustments when the network changes. This approach provides predictable and secure paths suitable for small or stable networks but can be challenging to maintain as networks grow or change frequently. Essentially, static routing offers precise control over data flow, ensuring that information reaches its destination through predefined, fixed routes.
