STAT3

STAT3 (Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 3) is a protein inside cells that helps transmit signals from outside the cell to the nucleus, influencing how the cell behaves. It plays a key role in processes like cell growth, division, and survival. When activated by certain signals, STAT3 moves to the nucleus and turns on specific genes. While important for normal functions like immune response and healing, if STAT3 becomes overactive or dysregulated, it can contribute to diseases such as cancer by promoting uncontrolled cell growth and preventing cell death.
