Stanley Schachter

Stanley Schachter was an American psychologist best known for his work on emotion and social behavior. He proposed the two-factor theory of emotion, which suggests that emotions arise from a combination of physiological arousal and cognitive labeling of that arousal. For example, if you feel your heart racing while watching a thrilling movie, you might interpret that arousal as excitement. Schachter also studied social phenomena, including conformity and the impact of social groups on individual behavior. His research enhanced our understanding of how emotions and social influences shape our experiences and interactions.
