Stages of Readiness

The Stages of Readiness describe how prepared someone is to make a change, like adopting a healthier habit or quitting a habit. It ranges from "Precontemplation" (not considering change), to "Contemplation" (thinking about it), "Preparation" (getting ready to act), "Action" (actively making the change), and "Maintenance" (sustaining the change). Understanding these stages helps tailor support and interventions, making it easier for individuals to progress at their own pace toward their goals. Recognizing where someone is on this spectrum allows for more effective guidance and encouragement.
