ST3 (Sound Transit 3)

ST3, or Sound Transit 3, is a regional public transportation plan approved by voters in the Seattle area in 2016. It aims to expand transit options, including light rail, bus rapid transit, and commuter trains, to connect communities and reduce traffic congestion. The plan includes new routes and extensions of existing lines, enhancing access to neighborhoods, job centers, and other key areas. Funded by a combination of sales tax, vehicle fees, and grants, ST3 is designed to improve mobility and support sustainable growth in the growing Puget Sound region over the coming decades.
