St. Norbert of Xanten

St. Norbert of Xanten (1080–1134) was a Christian priest and reformer who founded the Norbertine order, a community dedicated to prayer, study, and active service. Originally from Germany, he emphasized pastoral care, community life, and devotion to the Eucharist. Norbert played a significant role in reforming church practices and promoting the importance of clerical discipline during the 12th century. His teachings inspired religious communities committed to both contemplative prayer and service to others, and he was canonized as a saint for his efforts to renew and strengthen Christian life.
