
St. James the Greater
St. James the Greater was one of Jesus Christ's twelve apostles and the son of Zebedee. He is known for his zealous faith and is honored as the patron saint of Spain. After Jesus' death and resurrection, James spread Christianity in Spain and parts of the Middle East. He is traditionally believed to have been martyred in Jerusalem around 44 AD. His remains are said to be housed in the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Spain, making it a major pilgrimage site.
