SQ3R Method

The SQ3R Method is a reading technique designed to enhance understanding and retention of information. It stands for Survey, Question, Read, Recite, and Review. First, you skim the material to get an overview (Survey). Next, formulate questions based on your initial scan (Question). Then, read the text thoroughly to answer those questions (Read). Afterward, summarize the key points in your own words (Recite). Finally, revisit the material to reinforce your memory and understanding (Review). This structured approach helps improve comprehension and makes it easier to recall information later.
