Splash Erosion

Splash erosion occurs when raindrops hit the ground with force, displacing soil particles into the air and scattering them nearby. This initial impact causes small amounts of soil to break apart and move, which can lead to increased vulnerability of the land to further erosion processes like runoff. Essentially, it's the process where rain's impact directly erodes the soil surface, gradually wearing it away and making the area more prone to larger-scale erosion, especially if the ground remains unprotected.
