Spell slots (gaming)

In gaming, particularly in tabletop role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons, spell slots represent the limited capacity a character has to cast magic spells during an adventure. Think of them as rechargeable “magic energy” reserves; each spell slot can be used once to cast a spell. As a character gains experience, they can unlock higher-level slots for more powerful spells. After using a slot, it needs to be replenished through rest or other game mechanics. This system encourages strategic decision-making, requiring players to choose the right moments to cast their most impactful spells.
