species concepts
Species concepts are different ways scientists define what makes groups of living organisms the same or different. The most common is the Biological Species Concept, which considers organisms part of the same species if they can interbreed and produce healthy, fertile offspring. Other concepts include Morphological Species, based on physical traits, and Genetic Species, based on DNA. Each concept helps understand and categorize the diversity of life, acknowledging that species can be defined by reproductive ability, appearance, or genetic makeup, depending on the context of study.
