Spanish Communist Party

The Spanish Communist Party (Partido Comunista de EspaƱa, PCE) is a political party in Spain that advocates for communist ideology, which seeks to establish a classless society through the collective ownership of the means of production. Founded in 1921, the PCE played a significant role during the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939) against Franco's fascist forces. Although suppressed during Franco's dictatorship, it regained influence after Spain transitioned to democracy in the late 1970s. Today, the PCE is part of a broader leftist coalition and continues to promote social justice, workers' rights, and anti-capitalist policies in contemporary Spanish politics.
