Somatosensory pathway

The somatosensory pathway carries information from your body to your brain about touch, temperature, pain, and position. Sensory receptors in the skin, muscles, and joints detect stimuli and send signals through nerves to the spinal cord. From there, the signals travel up to the brain via specific pathways. Once in the brain, this information is processed so you can perceive sensations accurately. This pathway helps you sense the world around you and respond appropriately, maintaining awareness of your body's position and condition.
