Solomon Asch's Paradigm
Solomon Asch's paradigm was a psychological experiment that tested how group pressure influences individual opinions. Participants were asked to match line lengths, but they were secretly tested by seeing if they would conform to the incorrect answers given by others in the group. The results showed that many people conformed to the group's wrong choices, even when they knew they were incorrect. This demonstrated the powerful effect of peer pressure on decision-making and highlighted the human tendency to seek social acceptance, often at the expense of personal judgment.
