Solids
Solids are one of the three primary states of matter, alongside liquids and gases. In solids, particles are closely packed together, resulting in a definite shape and volume. Unlike liquids and gases, solids do not flow; their fixed structure allows them to maintain their form unless a significant force is applied. Common examples include ice, wood, and metals. The strong forces between the particles in solids contribute to their rigidity and ability to resist compression, making them essential in construction, manufacturing, and everyday objects.
