Social Jetlag

Social jetlag refers to the mismatch between your internal body clock (circadian rhythm) and your social schedule, such as work or social commitments. For example, if you naturally wake up early on weekdays but sleep in on weekends, your internal clock gets out of sync. This misalignment can cause sleep difficulties, fatigue, and affect overall health, similar to feeling jetlagged after traveling across time zones. In essence, social jetlag disrupts your biological timing because your lifestyle isn’t aligned with your natural sleep-wake preferences.
