Sneferu

Sneferu was an ancient Egyptian pharaoh who ruled during the Fourth Dynasty, around 2613-2589 BCE. He is known for his significant contributions to pyramid construction, particularly for developing the first true smooth-sided pyramid, the Bent Pyramid at Dahshur. His reign marked a transition in architecture from step-sided pyramids to the smooth, geometric forms we associate with Egypt today. Sneferu also undertook ambitious building projects and expanded Egypt's trade and military influence. His engineering innovations set the stage for future pharaohs, including his son, Khufu, who built the Great Pyramid of Giza.
