SNB angle

The SNB angle is a measurement used in orthodontics and craniofacial analysis to assess the position of the lower jaw (mandible) relative to the skull. It is formed between three points: Sella (S), Nasion (N), and point B (which marks the deepest point on the chin's lower jaw). A normal SNB angle helps determine whether the lower jaw is well aligned with the upper jaw and skull. Deviations from the typical range can indicate a retruded (displaced backward) or protruded (displaced forward) lower jaw, assisting in diagnosis and treatment planning for bite and jaw alignment issues.
